One of my favourite places to go fabric hunting is the Southampton Scrapstore. The Scrapstore, which is a registered charity, is an Aladdin’s cave of fabric, haberdashery, art and craft supplies donated by local businesses and members.
Individuals, community groups and schools can pay for an annual membership. An individual membership is only £19.50 in the first year and £17.50 a year thereafter and entitles the member to visit up to once a week, filling a bag with supplies for just £1.50.
You would be amazed at how many fabric remnants you can fit into a bag, together with ribbons, beads and anything else that appeals. Fabric is also available on the roll for just £3 a metre.
Scrap stores are located up and down the country and a can be found using this link: https://www.reusefuluk.org/scrapstores-directory
